DSE Assessment
Course duration. 1 day
The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations were introduced to protect the health of people who work with DSE. DSE has become one of the most common kinds of work equipment and because of this the regulations introduced a legal requirement to assess the DSE & workstations of your employees.
Surveys have proved that the incorrect set up and use of DSE workstations has been associated with neck, shoulder, back or arm pain, as well as with fatigue and eyestrain.
These aches and pains are also referred to as upper limb disorders (ULDs), which can include a range of medical conditions such as Repetitive Strain Injury.
If an assessment is carried out competently and correctly it can actually have a positive effect on the DSE user by preventing musculoskeletal disorders, increasing concentration levels and preventing other ill-health effects that are associated with badly designed workstations.
