Strategic Health and Safety Audit
Once you have your health and safety policies and procedures in place there can be a temptation to think that your workplace is safe and legal, which is not always the case.
Auditing your HSE management system is an intrinsic part of the “Plan Do Check Act” cycle, which is highly recommended by the Health and Safety Executive, and will not only assist with the maintenance of your systems but will also add value through continuous improvement.
The Strategic Audit from ACE will establish if:
- Relevant HS&E legislation is being complied with;
- Your own policies and procedures are appropriate and being complied with;
- Workplace hazards have been identified;
- Adequate risk control systems exist;
- Appropriate workplace precautions are in place;
- Appropriate management arrangements are in place;
Our Approach
Our approach centres on our belief that effective communication is essential during all stages of the audit process. This ensures the process is not merely perceived as a fault-finding activity, but as a valuable contribution to improving the arrangements for managing health, safety and the environment within your organisation.
The audit will address 3 types of evidence:
- Documentary – written policies and procedures
- Verbal communication – discussions with employees to understand their perception.
- Observation – watching operations and activities to see how they are actually carried out.
ACE consultants have a wealth of experience and work to the highest levels of professional integrity. Qualification, competence and experience is our core ethos from project inception through to completion.
